In a recent interview with Million Dollaz Worth of Game on Tuesday (November 14), rapper 2 Chainz opened up about his studio encounters, highlighting Dr. Dre as his most challenging collaborator to date.

Recalling a specific session, Tity Boi shared how Dr. Dre asked him to redo a verse due to enunciation concerns. Despite the initial resistance, 2 Chainz characterized the overall experience as “great.”

Addressing the nuances of regional accents, 2 Chainz explained, “I was trying to explain to Dr. Dre that a southern Black kid with an overbite is gonna sound different than a suburban white kid from Detroit. We’re gonna enunciate stuff different.”

The West Coast Hip Hop legend’s meticulous and perfectionist approach in the studio became evident as he guided 2 Chainz through multiple takes. The rapper acknowledged Dre’s commitment to detail and noted the transformative impact on rap music.

“I get why he is where he is. He pays special attention to detail. He don’t go for the first thing that come up. He really cares,” 2 Chainz expressed. “If I had to really zero down on the experience where the producer was literally sitting right here while I was trying to do my song, it would be Dr. Dre… I needed that experience; that was something on my bucket list.”

Dr. Dre even holds a co-writing credit on 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne’s “Welcome 2 ColleGrove” single “Presha.”

The much-anticipated sequel to the Weezy-Chainz joint project, arriving on November 17 via Def Jam, features a star-studded lineup including 21 Savage, Usher, Rick Ross, Benny The Butcher, Fabolous, Vory, and more. DJ Toomp, a producer for the project, teased a “wicked” track with Benny, featuring a compelling R&B sample and powerful drums.
