Uganda Muslim Medical Bureau Hosts 2024 Staff and Health Regional Coordinators Meeting at IUIU Female Campus in Kabojja.

Uganda Muslim Medical Bureau (UMMB) successfully concealed its annual meeting for staff and Health Regional Coordinators at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Female Campus in Kabojja. This pivotal gathering brought together key personnel from across Uganda to align on the bureau’s strategic goals and fortify the collaborative spirit essential for advancing healthcare services nationwide.

 

The retreat commenced with an inspiring address from the UMMB Executive Secretary, Mr. Kivumbi Muzamiru, who underscored the necessity of teamwork in achieving the bureau’s strategic objectives for 2022-2024. “Unity and collaboration are the cornerstones of our success. To meet our strategic goals, we must work together seamlessly, leveraging our collective expertise and dedication,” he asserted.

 

Uganda Muslim Medical Bureau is a leading organization dedicated to providing healthcare services in Uganda. Established by Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) in 1999 to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all Muslim Private Not for Profit (PNFP), across all regions of Uganda, UMMB operates a network of 80 health facilities across the country. The bureau’s strategic directions for 2022-2024 focus on enhancing service delivery, strengthening partnerships, and advocating for better health policies.

 

In his opening remarks, Mr. Kivumbi Muzamir the UMMB Executive Secretary highlighted the importance of teamwork in steering the organization towards its strategic objectives. “Working together as a cohesive unit is essential for the success of our mission. Our strategic directions for 2022-2026 require the dedication and collaboration of every member of our team,” he stated. Muzamiru, further introduced new initiatives aimed at addressing emerging health challenges and enhancing the bureau’s capacity to respond effectively to public health emergencies. These initiatives include expanding the reach, strengthening community health education programs, and enhancing the use of data and analytics to inform decision-making.

Health Regional Coordinators play a vital role to the UMMB’s mission and were particularly acknowledged for their significant contributions. These coordinators are pivotal in advocacy, supervision, and coordination of health network members within their regions, ensuring adherence to health standards and protocols. Their efforts in monitoring and supporting health facilities have been instrumental in advancing the UMMB’s mission of delivering accessible and high-quality healthcare services.

 

The meeting served as a platform for discussing key strategies, sharing insights, and reinforcing the commitment to improving healthcare services across the country. By bringing together staff and Health coordinators from various regions, UMMB aims to strengthen its network and enhance the delivery of quality healthcare services to the communities it serves with its dedicated mission of providing accessible and high-quality healthcare to all member facilities and this gathering was a testament to its ongoing efforts to foster unity and excellence within its network.

 

The meeting featured several comprehensive sessions, including a detailed review of the UMMB’s strategic plan 2022-2026, discussing achievements, challenges, and areas for further development, In-depth discussions on effective advocacy strategies to influence health policies at both regional and national levels among others. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment from all participants to work together towards the common goal of improving healthcare services in Uganda. The UMMB secretariat leadership expressed profound gratitude to all the health coordinators for their hard work and dedication, urging them to continue striving for excellence in their respective roles.
