Last Saturday, Mumbya Hussein was forcibly taken by heavily armed individuals from Jinja City, near the taxi park. Eyewitnesses reported that he was abducted and transported away in a drone with registration number UAL 748K. Since his abduction, Hussein’s family and loved ones have been tirelessly searching for him without success.

Disturbingly, recent developments suggest that Hussein is currently being held by the military at Bombo. The revelation of his whereabouts has sparked outrage among the community, highlighting the alarming lawlessness and impunity prevailing in Uganda.

In response to this egregious violation of human rights, several leaders have stepped forward to investigate and address the situation. Their efforts are commendable and offer hope to Hussein’s family and supporters in their quest for justice.

The resurgence of abductions targeting political supporters is a grave concern that must be condemned by all people of conscience. The Resurgence Network For Human Rights has strongly condemned this act and called for urgent international intervention to investigate and hold accountable those responsible for such blatant human rights abuses in Uganda.

As the search for Mumbya Hussein continues, the spotlight remains on Uganda’s deteriorating human rights situation.
