Ugandan musician Mukunja Atasera has been detained at Kabalagala Police Station and denied bail following a cyberstalking case filed against him by fellow artist Lil Pazo Lunabe. However, sources close to the musician believe his arrest is politically motivated — reportedly linked to a campaign song he recently released in support of National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Bobi Wine, which is said to have angered certain sections of the establishment.

According to Mukunja’s representative, the artist was summoned to the station to record a statement and seek bail, but was instead locked up overnight.

“They are basically prosecuting him for being creative and a musician,” the representative told reporters. “He is an artist being arrested for doing his job. It’s like every song he releases becomes a case file. They had multiple files against him and refused to specify which one this arrest was about. In the end, they locked him up on orders of the Kabalagala OCC.”

The representative further revealed that Mukunja was made to write a detailed statement explaining how he came up with a song alleged to insult Lil Pazo — a charge his camp insists is being used as a smokescreen for political intimidation.

Efforts to secure his release were unsuccessful as police allegedly delayed the process until offices that could approve bail had closed for the day.

Mukunja’s team has since vowed to pursue legal action and have him presented before court rather than kept in detention without trial.

“We are still fighting to get him out and have him presented in court,” his representative added. “We do not want him to continue being detained in those dungeons. If he must be held, let it be through due legal process, not arbitrary detention.”

As of press time, the police had not issued an official statement regarding the charges, the denial of bail, or claims that Mukunja’s political song triggered his arrest

97WinBet, not gonna lie, I was skeptical at first. But I tried a few games, and they’re pretty legit. Nice site design and easy to navigate. Good odds especially for football. Just a tip – keep an eye on the withdrawal limits! Otherwise, a good place to place your bets: 97winbet
