In a bold address, Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka of the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) in Uganda has delivered a powerful message against corruption and hypocrisy, likening perpetrators to Judas Iscariot and urging national unity and honesty.

Speaking at a gathering for way of the cross healing and deliverance prayers at Mamre International Prayer Centre in Namugongo, Kira Municipality, Wakiso district, Bishop Kibuuka minced no words in denouncing the pervasive corruption plaguing Uganda.

“Corruption is akin to the betrayal of Judas Iscariot, selling out Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Today, we witness selfishness and greed that prioritize personal gain over the well-being of others, permeating government, private entities, and even religious institutions,” stated Bishop Kibuuka.

He stressed the urgent need for honesty, justice, and transparency in all aspects of Ugandan society, warning that continued corruption would only lead to further division and hinder development.

“Let us embrace the values of reconciliation, forgiveness, and dialogue, for those who sow division and dishonesty are akin to the betrayers of Christ,” Bishop Kibuuka emphasized.

Concluding his address, Bishop Kibuuka extended Easter blessings to all, urging a collective effort to combat corruption, alleviate poverty, and foster peace for the country’s advancement.
