The family and friends of a supporter of Uganda’s National Unity Platform (NUP) are desperately searching for their loved one, who has been reported missing. The missing person, whose identity has not been disclosed for safety reasons, is an ardent supporter of the opposition party led by Bobi Wine.

Relatives say the individual was last seen in the capital city, Kampala, but failed to return home as expected. Since then, family and friends have been searching for any information regarding their whereabouts but have so far come up empty-handed.

In recent years, NUP members have faced increasing scrutiny and intimidation due to their opposition to the ruling government. There have been numerous reports of opposition supporters being detained, often without clear charges, while others face physical violence or harassment.

The family has appealed to the authorities to assist in the search for their missing relative. However, there is growing concern among human rights activists and NUP officials about the safety of political dissidents and their supporters in Uganda.

The National Unity Platform, the main opposition party in Uganda, has called for a thorough and transparent investigation to locate the missing supporter and ensure their safe return.
