It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, mother, and friend, Jennifer Nyakato. Jennifer succumbed to breast cancer on August 12, 2024, in Edmonton, Alberta. Her passing leaves a deep void in our hearts and within the Uganda Cultural Association of Alberta (UCAA) community, where she was an active and cherished member.
Jennifer’s journey to Canada began just ten months ago when she sought a new life in Alberta. Despite her short time with us, she quickly became an integral part of our community, known for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support for others. Her presence brought joy and strength to many, and her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her.
In honoring Jennifer’s last wish, we are committed to returning her body to Uganda, where she can be laid to rest in her homeland. However, the financial burden of funeral expenses and transportation costs is immense, and we are struggling to meet these demands.
We kindly appeal to your generosity during this difficult time.
