Gunna Teases New Music in 2024, Fans Eager for His Return
As the transition from 2023 to 2024 fueled anticipation among rap fans, Spotify’s Rap Caviar playlist took to social media, asking followers to “@ a rapper who needs to drop in 2024.” Gunna, the Atlanta-based rapper, didn’t hesitate to respond, tagging himself in the comment section with a promising “soon,” leaving fans excited about the prospect of fresh music from the artist.
Gunna’s recent comment signals a potential return to the scene after a period of relative quietness since the release of his latest album, “a Gift & a Curse,” earlier in the year. The album, which marked Gunna’s first release post his involvement in the high-profile YSL RICO case, addressed the allegations he faced, becoming a notable success. The hit track “fukumean” emerged as one of the prominent rap hits of 2023.
Despite a low-key presence in recent months, Gunna has made a few notable appearances on features. Collaborating with producer Turbo on the single “Bachelor,” the duo’s track has already amassed over 12 million streams on Spotify since its release. Gunna and Turbo’s previous collaboration on “QUARANTINE CLEAN” in 2020, featuring Young Thug, was also a hit.
Notably, Gunna’s former collaborator Lil Baby stirred speculation last month when he made a reference to “rats” during a performance. Many interpreted this as a potential shot at Gunna. The duo had previously created the smash hit “Drip Too Hard” in 2018 as part of a full collaborative album.
As Gunna hints at new music in 2024, fans are eager for his return, anticipating the possibility of a fresh album. Are you excited about Gunna’s potential new music this year? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
