Ludacris, one of the standout rappers of the 2000s, is set to bring his early career as a radio DJ to the small screen with an upcoming TV show. The Word Of Mouf rapper officially teased the series inspired by his real-life journey in the competitive music scene in Atlanta when he went by the moniker Chris Lova Lova. The untitled TV show, currently in its early stages, is expected to be a half-hour-per-episode dramedy exclusive to Paramount’s BET Plus streaming service. Renowned co-creator of Insecure and The Bernie Mac Show, Larry Wilmore, has joined Ludacris as an executive producer for the series. The show, centered around Ludacris’ misadventures as a radio personality, aims to capture the essence of his journey in the competitive hip-hop radio scene.
According to reports, the series will feature a sharply drawn ensemble willing to go to great lengths to boost ratings at their hip-hop radio station. Noah Gardenswartz, known for his work on the acclaimed Amazon Prime Video show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, has been enlisted to write the script, adding another layer of talent to the production.
