The rally, which saw a sea of red-clad supporters, was headlined by NUP leader and presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, commonly known as Bobi Wine. The massive turnout left Kyagulanyi speechless, visibly moved by the overwhelming show of solidarity.
In his address to the energized crowd, Kyagulanyi expressed profound gratitude and astonishment at the size of the gathering, calling it a clear indication of the people’s desire for change. “This is a revolution,” he declared, his voice resonating with a mix of passion and conviction. “We are here not just to witness history but to make history. The people of Uganda have spoken, and they demand a new dawn.”
The rally in Mukono is being hailed as one of the largest gatherings in NUP’s campaign history, showcasing the party’s growing influence and the public’s increasing discontent with the current government. The attendees, who filled every available space, waved party flags, chanted slogans, and sang songs of freedom, creating an electrifying atmosphere that underscored the rally’s significance.
Speakers at the event included several prominent NUP figures, who reiterated the party’s commitment to justice, freedom, and the rule of law. They called for an end to corruption, impunity, and the long-standing rule of President Yoweri Museveni.
“This rally is a testament to the resilience and determination of the Ugandan people,” said Kyagulanyi. “We are ready to take back our country and build a future that we can all be proud of. This is not just a political movement; this is a people’s movement.”
