In a move reminiscent of Jay-Z’s artistic commitment, Metro Boomin has taken a bold stance on his upcoming musical endeavors. The acclaimed super-producer, slated to deliver three albums to eager fans in 2024, recently shared his unconventional promise alongside a selfie on social media.

On Thursday (January 11), Metro Boomin declared, “No haircut or shave till the album turned in cause I’m in #thatmode drop some [barber, shave emojis] if you ready,” via X (formerly Twitter). The post, capturing the artist in his dedicated studio zone, has ignited anticipation and curiosity among fans.

This practice echoes Jay-Z’s well-documented habit of refraining from cutting his hair during the creative process, a tradition he candidly discussed during the making of “The Blueprint 3” in 2009. Jay-Z, in an interview with Hot 97, revealed, “When I make music, I normally don’t cut my hair. I started [working on The Blueprint 3] last year and it’s getting really bad. It’s terrible. But I think for the art, I can live with it.”

Amusingly, a fan playfully speculated on Metro Boomin’s potential post-album facial hair transformation, sharing a humorous prediction of his appearance upon the album’s release.

The specific album to which Metro Boomin refers remains undisclosed, leaving fans to speculate. Among the possibilities is the much-anticipated collaborative effort with Future, a project teased through snippets of an unreleased track featuring Pluto and Travis Scott, rumored to be titled “Cinderella” or “Family Forever.”

While an official release date for the Future collaboration is yet to be announced, Future himself confirmed last month that the joint project is “on the way.” The dynamic duo has a history of successful collaborations, including chart-toppers like “Mask Off,” “Low Life,” and “Superhero (Heroes & Villains),” as well as contributions to Drake’s hits “Jumpman” and “Life is Good.”

In addition to the Future collaboration, Metro Boomin has hinted at other exciting projects, including a joint venture with J.I.D and a solo album, following up on the success of 2022’s “Heroes & Villains.” As fans eagerly await the unveiling of Metro Boomin’s artistic creations, his unorthodox commitment to hair growth adds an intriguing layer to the anticipation surrounding his 2024 album trilogy.
