Pastor Jackson Senyonga, the lead pastor of Christian Life Church, has called on the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to uphold equal justice by reopening the closed complaint file of youths accusing Pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Center Cathedral of sodomizing them. Pastor Senyonga, addressing a press conference at his church in Kampala, emphasized the need for impartiality in the legal proceedings.

He revealed that the young men, who allege they were sodomized by Pastor Kayanja, had initially gone to the Miracle Center and were subsequently arrested for criminal trespass. Notably, the boys had lodged a complaint against Pastor Kayanja for the alleged sodomy.

However, Pastor Senyonga expressed concern that the DPP chose to prosecute the alleged sodomy victims for criminal trespass and tarnishing Pastor Kayanja’s name, while closing the file containing the boys’ complaint against Pastor Kayanja. He urged the DPP to treat both sides equally for justice to prevail.

“As a spiritual leader, I sympathize with both Pastor Kayanja and the boys making accusations. Justice can only be achieved if both sides receive equal consideration. The DPP should handle the boys’ file against Pastor Kayanja, insisting he sodomized them, just as they processed Pastor Kayanja’s criminal trespass file. Equality in consideration is vital for justice,” Senyonga stated.

He acknowledged the possibility of some individuals seeking financial gain from the situation but emphasized that there are also boys genuinely claiming to have been victims of sodomy. Pastor Senyonga urged the DPP to ensure a fair hearing for all parties involved.
