Raising Alarm Over Human Rights Violations
Bobi Wine didn’t shy away from the harsh realities on the ground in Uganda. He condemned the ongoing abductions, torture, and unlawful detentions of NUP supporters both within Uganda and abroad.
“Our comrades are disappearing. Many are jailed without trial. Families are crying for justice. We cannot be silent.”
This part of his speech struck an emotional chord among attendees, many of whom have friends or relatives affected by state repression.
As the convention continues through August 3rd, discussions are expected to cover the NUP roadmap to 2026, diaspora mobilization strategies, and continued exposure of the regime’s injustices.
