Uganda on the Brink: The UPDF’s Dangerous Pledge to the Muhoozi Project

Uganda stands at a dangerous crossroads. A chilling statement, purportedly from UPDF soldiers loyal to the so-called Muhoozi Project, has exposed a shocking truth—Uganda’s military is no longer a guardian of the state but a weaponized force for political succession. Soldiers, who should protect citizens, are now openly vowing to “kill and destroy” those who oppose Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s rise to power.
This is not just another political drama—this is a warning of an impending military dictatorship. If we do not act now, Uganda risks plunging into a new era of militarized terror.
The UPDF’s Oath vs. Political Thuggery
The Ugandan People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) are supposed to defend Uganda and its people, not serve the ambitions of a single individual. But now, soldiers are pledging blind allegiance to Muhoozi Kainerugaba—a direct violation of their constitutional duty. An army that swears loyalty to a political figure instead of the nation is an army that no longer serves the people—it serves oppression.
This is exactly how military-backed autocracies take root. Uganda is no longer walking down this path; we are sprinting towards it.
Muhoozi Project: The Militarization of Uganda’s Politics
Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of Mr. Yoweri Museveni, is not just a military general—he is at the center of a dangerous political experiment. The Muhoozi Project has turned Uganda’s military into a personal campaign team, and now, these soldiers are threatening to crush, kill, and destroy anyone who opposes him.
This is no longer politics. This is military rule in disguise.
History has shown us what happens when armies become political machines—violence, dictatorship, and mass oppression follow. Uganda is now heading straight into that abyss.
“We Fight to Kill and Destroy” – A Direct Threat to Ugandans
The most terrifying part of this statement is the open admission of state-sponsored violence against civilians. Soldiers are publicly declaring that they will attack their own people if they do not align with the Muhoozi Project.
This is not the duty of a national army.
This is not democracy.
This is terrorism in uniform.
When those with guns see fellow Ugandans as enemies, the country is one step away from mass killings, arbitrary arrests, and violent crackdowns on opposition figures, journalists, and activists.
Silence is Complicity – Where is the Accountability?
The biggest question now is: Where are Uganda’s institutions? Why are the country’s security organs silent as the UPDF transforms into a political death squad?
If Muhoozi and his soldiers are not stopped now, the 2026 elections will not be free or fair—they will be a military takeover disguised as a democratic process. Uganda’s future is being stolen in broad daylight, and those who remain silent are accomplices.
A Warning to Ugandans and the World
To all Ugandans: This is no longer a political debate. This is a direct attack on your freedoms, your safety, and your future. If the military is allowed to continue down this path, Uganda will descend into full-blown dictatorship—one that will be enforced by guns, not votes.
To human rights activists, the international community, and the world: Uganda is in grave danger. A military-led autocracy is rising, and without global intervention, another African nation will fall into the hands of a regime that rules by fear and force.
THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION.
Ugandans must demand accountability from the UPDF. The world must speak out before it’s too late. If we do nothing, history will repeat itself—this time with Muhoozi Kainerugaba at the helm of a military dictatorship.
Uganda’s future depends on how we respond right now. Silence is not an option.
