Renowned for his role in Eminem’s iconic film “8 Mile,” Supa Emcee, whose real name is Jimmie Brown, now faces severe legal repercussions. The rapper is charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his longtime girlfriend, Kelly Mays, to death in their Detroit apartment on January 7.

According to TMZ reports, the tragic incident unfolded after a 13-year relationship between Brown and Mays. Authorities claim that the rapper allegedly inflicted nearly 17 stab wounds to Mays’ neck and chest. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, Brown had already fled, but he turned himself in the following day.

Mays’ daughter, deeply affected by the loss of her mother, expressed her disdain for Supa Emcee in a statement to Fox 2 Detroit. “I hate him now, and he is no father of mine. I touched her foot, and it was cold. I have nightmares about it, so every time I fall asleep, I see it.”

TMZ also reveals that Brown, aside from his rap career, is a former veteran well-known in the Detroit rap scene. Although he had the opportunity to battle rap against Eminem in “8 Mile,” the scene ended up being downgraded to the DVD release.

Mays’ daughter and her sister had reportedly urged the couple to part ways multiple times. “Even when they did fight in front of us, he would walk away. The one time we’re not there, he took her life like it was nothing,” expressed Mays’ daughter.

Set in Detroit, the hometown of Eminem, “8 Mile” revolves around the character Jimmy, portrayed by Eminem himself. The movie’s title refers to an actual road in the Detroit suburbs called “Eight Mile Road,” acting as an invisible boundary between lower-class African-Americans to the south and white residents to the north. The film accurately depicts Jimmy living on the north side but frequently crossing the road to spend time with friends on the south side.
