G Herbo has taken the opportunity to clear the air regarding his and Southside’s contentious interview with Funny Marco, emphasizing that there is no animosity between them.

During an appearance on Drink Champs aired on Saturday (February 10), Herbo provided context to what many perceived as the musicians bullying the comedian.

“Marco, first and foremost, that’s my man,” the rapper stated. “We already had a relationship prior to doing the interview and shit. So originally, [Southside] was supposed to did the interview and his production staff told us to like troll him, like it was supposed to be a surprise.”

Herbo explained that while they went a bit overboard during the interview, the intention was not to cause harm but to surprise Funny Marco on his own show.

“I spoke to him before [the episode] even came out and we was good,” Herbo clarified. “I didn’t know if it was like a confusion between our staff and his production team where they was thinking we didn’t want it to come out. We was like, ‘Nah it’s cool, we ain’t really trippin’.”

Last year, Funny Marco addressed the controversy during a stand-up show, revealing that initially, the rappers’ teams encouraged him to release the interview. However, the viral backlash led to a change in attitude from Herbo’s team.

In October, Southside and Herbo appeared on Funny Marco’s Open Thoughts, which later sparked allegations of contentious behavior from the rappers. However, both Southside and Herbo maintained their respect for Marco despite the heated exchange.

Southside, in particular, took to social media to address the situation, reaffirming his respect for Marco and offering to make amends for any discomfort caused during the interview.

While tensions flared during the interview, it seems all parties involved are now seeking to move forward positively, with Herbo emphasizing that there’s no lingering hostility between them.
