African Twitter Roasts Meek Mill with Hilarious Responses to Music Inquiry
Meek Mill, the MMG rapper, has become the latest subject of African Twitter’s sharp wit, as fans delivered merciless teasing in response to his recent music-related inquiry on X (formerly known as Twitter). On Saturday (January 20), Meek innocently asked, “Do a lot of people play my music in South Africa? I remember having one big show there a few years back… how do y’all listen to our music in South Africa? On what platform or in Nigeria?”
The reactions were swift and humorous. One user joked, “Well, it depends on the season. In summer, we hear it through the trunk of an elephant. In spring, the giraffes catch signal and play it out loud. You get me?”
Another witty response quipped, “Normally we use rocks, but on a good day, we use trees or get one person to sing for the whole village.”
A more elaborate reply added, “On a good day, we climb the mountain to listen to the forest play your music. On rainy days, we go down the nearest river, and a mermaid comes out to sing your songs. We have only one computer here in my village, so it was my turn to tweet. [praying hands emoji] will hear from me next year.”
While Meek Mill’s social media interactions are often lighthearted, he recently found himself in the spotlight for more serious reasons. Earlier this month, his former friend, Dean, took to social media, making claims that Meek spat on Nicki Minaj and kicked her out of his house during their tumultuous two-year relationship that ended in 2016.
According to Dean, “That n-gga [Meek] put [Nicki] out in the woods. We out in Jersey somewhere in the woods. N-gga put her out the house and shit, and I had to go get her. She cried right here. Am I lying, Nicki? Ask Meek’s sister.”
Dean went on to detail a heated argument between Meek and Nicki, alleging that Meek spat on her. He claimed, “I told him right then and there, ‘You lost your fucking mind.’” Dean also suggested that Meek’s infamous 2015 feud with Drake was ultimately over Nicki Minaj.
As of now, neither Meek nor Nicki has responded to these allegations, but the revelations add another layer to the complex history between the former couple, who, four years after their 2016 breakup, exchanged salacious accusations against each other.
