The General Court Martial in Makindye has released four people out of the 32 National Unity Platform (NUP) party supporters currently on remand at Kitalya Prison on charges of unlawful possession of 13 pieces of explosive devices.

The four supporters granted bail include Ronald Mayiga, Richard Njobi, Kenneth Kamya and Shafic Ngobi.

Brig Gen Freeman Mugabe, the chairman of the Court Martial ruled that the sureties presented by the four individuals were substantial while the other suspects did not present such.

The group were released on a cash bail of Shs500, 000 with their sureties each with a noncash bond of Shs2 million.

The army court also ordered the four not to go beyond Kampala and Wakiso districts and that they should report to court twice a month every after fourteen days as to when required in court.

Should they breach of any of the bail terms, court warned that this will lead to automatic cancellation of their bail and be rearrested again.

Brig Mugabe adjourned case to Tuesday, April 4 for a successive hearing that will be conducted without the presence of the public and journalists.

This according to court was on request of the state witness who cited intimidation from the public and requested for protection.
