In a recent stand-up set, Dave Chappelle shared his thoughts on Katt Williams’ explosive appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast earlier this month. Williams targeted several Black comedians, including Kevin Hart, Rickey Smiley, Cedric the Entertainer, and Steve Harvey, sparking various responses from those he dissed.

Chappelle, who was spared in Williams’ critique, expressed his disappointment with the choice to focus on fellow Black comedians. While acknowledging his admiration for Williams as a comedian, Chappelle questioned the decision to put his peers on blast.

During the stand-up set, Chappelle stated, “What part of the game is this? He ethered n***as. He didn’t say anything about any of these white boys. None of these white boys function like that.” He went on to mention that Williams, being one of the best in the game, should refrain from drawing negative images of their community.

Chappelle further commented on the nature of Williams’ remarks, emphasizing that he mainly talked about what others did to fellow Black comedians rather than addressing personal experiences. Chappelle questioned the ethics, asking, “What part of the game fks up another na’s paper? What part of the game is about telling on another n**a?”

The comedian’s critique adds to the ongoing discussions sparked by Williams’ controversial interview, with Chappelle offering his perspective on the matter. Do you agree with Dave Chappelle’s sentiments, or do you have a different take? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
