Drake Sparks Speculation About Ongoing Beef with Metro Boomin in Instagram Post Promoting 21 Savage’s New Album
Drake and 21 Savage are as tight as modern rap duos get, and their bond is pretty special. They have a whole collaborative tape together, “Her Loss,” and their run of hits before that speaks for itself. As expected, the 6ix God wanted to promote his partner’s brand-new album, “american dream,” on his Instagram Story on Friday (January 12). While telling “his brother” to “talk to them,” the most notable part of the post wasn’t the message. Instead, it was the implicit one via emojis sent to one of the game’s best producers, Metro Boomin.
Drake was listening to the cut “just like me” from 21 Savage, Burna Boy, and Metro. By placing a series of talking emojis towards the bottom of the screen, he blocked the beatmaker’s name from appearing. Many fans thought this is a reference to the ongoing alleged beef between the Toronto superstar and the St. Louis native. The two have thrown shade at each other recently, stemming from their competition to win in the Best Rap Album categories at awards shows.
Drake & Metro Boomin Beef Seems To Continue
This ongoing tension might go beyond award show competition, with rumors suggesting issues related to collaborative projects, shared collaborators, and various other reasons. While Young Metro had previously mentioned on Twitter that there’s no deep beef between him and Drizzy, the recent Instagram post adds fuel to the speculations. Whether it’s just friendly competition during award show season or a culmination of back-and-forths, it’s not the only smoke that “american dream” holds. The album itself has sparked speculations of shots at Gunna, although that’s yet to be confirmed. Time will tell if these potential feuds get any clarification in the near future.
