Fabolous and Trey Songz Unleash Their Talents on Drake’s “You Broke My Heart” Beat in Latest Freestyle
Renowned rapper Fabolous has once again teamed up with Trey Songz to deliver a fresh freestyle, this time showcasing their skills over the beat from Drake’s 2023 hit, “You Broke My Heart.”
Titled “You Did Me Wrong Freestyle,” the collaboration features the duo seamlessly blending their vocals with one of the standout beats from Drake’s album, “For All the Dogs: Scary Hours Edition.” Fabolous spits rhymes like, “I been ballin’ like the Clippers lately, Thought I told you hoes that I am the system, Few thousand to the strippers lately, If I let ’em go, promise I don’t miss ’em.”
In the accompanying video, the Bad Boy Records alumni and Trey Songz are seen cruising on a yacht in Australia, surrounded by a bevy of women in bikinis.
This isn’t Fabolous’ first venture into freestyling over Drake’s beats. Just last month, he responded to Drake’s open challenge for fellow artists to rap on tracks from “Scary Hours 3.” In November, the 46-year-old rapper dropped a short freestyle, offering fans a taste of his take on a Drizzy instrumental. Less than a month later, he returned with a full-length version titled “Benzgiving Freestyle.”
The full-length track’s video begins with Fabolous in front of the Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4² (also known as the “G-Class Squared”) he received for his 46th birthday, shared on Instagram. The theme of “Benzgiving” persists throughout the song, with nearly every line-ending phrase rhyming with the title.
In recent Fabolous freestyle news, the rapper encountered a slight delay in his Freestyle Friday series due to “technical difficulties.” After a 72-hour delay, he dropped a fiery freestyle filled with sharp pop culture references and lyrical jabs over a sample of SZA’s infectious “Snooze” anthem. Despite the hiccup, Fabolous remains dedicated to delivering top-notch freestyles, with “You Did Me Wrong Freestyle” marking the second instance of releasing his weekly freestyle on a Monday.
