Kid Cudi is turning his creative aspirations into reality as he recently collaborated with legendary producer The Alchemist in a studio session. While the two had worked together about 15 years ago, Cudi expressed his desire for a full album with The Alchemist in a tweet last year. The iconic producer, Uncle Al, responded enthusiastically, and it seems that their joint wishes are now materializing. Fans are eagerly anticipating the potential musical alchemy that could result from this collaboration, whether it leads to a full project or not. The anticipation is heightened by Cudi’s recent decision to walk back his retirement announcement from last year.

During an interview with Zane Lowe, where Kid Cudi discussed his upcoming album INSANO, his creative journey, and more, he opened up about his initial retirement declaration. Reflecting on that period, Cudi shared, “I was kind of out of it. I was just in this place where I was thinking about my future. It just didn’t seem like there was really an appetite for my music in the ways that it used to be.”

Cudi credited a conversation with his friend Brian, known as KAWS, for changing his perspective on retirement. Brian encouraged him to reconsider, stating, “I think you could be around for a long time.” This conversation, coming from someone who had never discussed Cudi’s music before, had a profound impact on the artist. “And literally after that message, I was like, s**t man, he’s right. I’m just getting warm,” Cudi acknowledged.

In the course of the conversation, Cudi briefly touched upon his ongoing beef with Lupe Fiasco. Despite the Chicago rapper’s response, the rift between them appears unlikely to heal anytime soon. Regardless, fans are excited to witness Kid Cudi’s journey from here onward, observing how he continues to evolve, find happiness, maintain his health, and achieve peace throughout his creative endeavors.
