Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s pardon of rapper Kodak Black before leaving the White House in 2020 left many in the hip-hop community surprised. However, since then, Kodak Black, also known as Yak, has faced several legal issues, including arrests for drug possession and trespassing. Despite these challenges, attorney Bradford Cohen’s efforts led to the dismissal of drug possession charges against Kodak Black, who was accused of possessing cocaine but was found to have Oxycodone, a medication for which he had a prescription.

After the charges were dropped, Kodak Black eagerly anticipated his release, captured on camera as he made his way home on Wednesday (February 21). With plans to reconnect with loved ones and resume studio work, he is also awaiting the arrival of his fourth child later in the week. His partner, Maranda Johnson, has been supportive during his absence, sharing stunning maternity photos on social media and advocating for his release.

Attorney Bradford Cohen praised Kodak Black’s commitment to family, noting his pledge to donate to the college fund of children whose father, a Minnesota officer, was killed in the line of duty. As Kodak Black embraces his newfound freedom, he remains dedicated to his family, including his two-year-old daughter and two other children.

While supporters celebrate Kodak Black’s release, the rapper expressed frustration with the media attention surrounding his departure from prison. Despite this, he looks forward to moving forward and staying focused on his music career and family life. For updates on Kodak Black and more hip-hop/pop culture news, stay tuned.
