Lil Kim has asserted that the anticipation for her memoir, The Queen Bee, is so immense that its pre-sales are set to outshine the Bible, a bold statement she made during an Instagram Live session on Thursday (November 9).

In the live session, Kim stated, “When we post our pre-sales, we be surpassing the Bible,” acknowledging the weight of the comparison while emphasizing the extraordinary demand for her upcoming book. She also hinted at challenges with book publishers, cautioning others about potential exploitation in such dealings.

The Bible holds the record as the highest-selling book globally, with estimates ranging between five and seven billion copies sold.

Lil Kim initially announced The Queen Bee in 2021 and completed the memoir this past summer. Co-authored with music journalist Kathy Iandoli, the book is scheduled for release in March 2024. According to a press release, it will delve into Lil Kim’s complex high-profile relationships, her efforts to challenge industry misogyny through sex positivity, the double standards of self-image and beauty in the spotlight, and a significant act of loyalty that led to her imprisonment.

The 288-page memoir will trace Lil Kim’s journey from her early life to her emergence in the hip-hop scene as part of Junior M.A.F.I.A. and the release of her groundbreaking solo album, Hard Core, in 1996.

The Queen Bee will also address Lil Kim’s romantic relationship with The Notorious B.I.G., exploring the alleged domestic abuse within that tumultuous connection. In a 2017 interview with Hot 97’s Ebro Darden, Lil Kim acknowledged the violence, saying, “We did have a very violent relationship. I hate that, for a while, that was all I attracted: violent [men]. It is what it is.” She discussed an incident where Biggie pulled a gun on her in a recording studio to compel her to record a verse for Usher.
