Known for his reluctance to participate in interviews, Drake recently found himself unable to decline a deposition request. The deposition, lasting “several hours,” focused on the lawsuits stemming from the tragic events at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival in November 2021, as reported by Rolling Stone.
While the content of the deposition remains undisclosed, Drake’s team refrained from commenting on the matter, stating, “Due to orders in the case, I don’t feel it is appropriate to comment.”
During the 2021 Astroworld Festival in Houston, where Drake made a surprise appearance during Scott’s set, a crowd crush resulted in the deaths of 10 people and numerous injuries. In the aftermath, Drake expressed his grief on Instagram, stating, “My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives, and for anyone who is suffering.”
Drake, along with Travis Scott, Live Nation, Scoremore, and Apple, faces numerous lawsuits related to the incident. Despite a Texas grand jury declining criminal charges against Scott earlier this summer, the ongoing civil cases remain unaffected by the decision. Drake has consistently asserted in previous filings that he played no role in planning the ill-fated concert.
