Uganda’s leading radio station, Metro FM 90.8, is set to host one of Africa’s most electrifying voices in Afro-Reggae, Don Franco Tafari, this week on their widely celebrated morning show, “Bukende Butya”, hosted by the vibrant duo Kabuye Winnie Bulya and DJ Scofield.

Don Franco Tafari, born Lucas Francis Dumhi in Zimbabwe and currently based in South Africa, is renowned for his unique musical blend that fuses Zimbabwean traditional rhythms with the soulful sounds of classic Jamaican reggae. With a career spanning over two decades, Tafari has built a solid international presence, having toured countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti, and beyond. He is set to captivate Ugandan listeners with insights into his musical journey, message-driven artistry, and future plans.

An Icon of Afro-Reggae Fusion

Tafari’s music is deeply rooted in messages of peace, unity, resilience, and spiritual empowerment. Influenced by reggae greats like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Dennis Brown, as well as Zimbabwean legends such as Oliver Mtukudzi and Thomas Mapfumo, his sound bridges generations and cultures.
