The Miss Uganda Foundation, in collaboration with StarTimes Uganda, has officially launched the 2024 edition of the Miss Uganda beauty pageant. This year’s theme, “True Ugandan Beauty,” aims to highlight the diverse cultural and natural beauty of Ugandan women aged 18-25 from across the nation.

The pageant journey, dubbed “Miss Uganda 2024, Journey to the Crown Season 2,” will be broadcast as a reality TV show on Makula KiKa TV, with reruns on Makula Kazannyo Ku Kazannyo TV every Friday to Sunday at 8 PM. This series will provide an exclusive glimpse into the extensive beauty pageant activities across Uganda’s regions, available only on StarTimes platforms, including the StarTimes ON mobile app.

The program will cover a decade of the pageant’s history and include various phases such as entry applications, regional auditions, national selections, and a residential boot camp. Viewers can look forward to segments on beauty and fashion contests, beach beauty and sports challenges, adventure and talent contests, and periodic evictions. The show will also feature confession sessions, interactive audience participation, and culminate in the grand crowning ceremony.

Spanning thirteen weeks, these events will be packaged and broadcast in real-time from May 10th through August 2024, providing a comprehensive look at the aspirants’ journey to the crown.

Kenneth Kazooba, Vice President of StarTimes, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative: “At StarTimes, we are keen and proud to identify, harness, and promote the true Ugandan beauty to the rest of the world. It’s essential for us to showcase these talented individuals, as Ugandans too love to see the best versions of themselves. That’s what Miss Uganda represents, and that’s our pride at StarTimes.”

Makula KiKa, a premier local entertainment channel exclusive to the StarTimes platform, will host the show. Launched on October 2, 2023, the channel is accessible via satellite, antenna decoder, and the mobile app, providing a variety of local entertainment options.
