NRM Donates UGX 30 Million Towards Busoga Royal Wedding

National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has extended a generous contribution of UGX 30 million (approximately $8,000) in support of the upcoming Busoga royal wedding, set to take place on November 18, 2023, in Bugembe. The presentation occurred at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, where the NRM Secretary General, Richard Todwong, handed over the funds to Dr. Joseph Muvawala, the Katukiro (Prime Minister) of the Busoga Kingdom.

Todwong conveyed the NRM’s gratitude for the hospitality of the Busoga Kingdom and recognized its pivotal role in fostering a united Uganda. He commended Busoga as a melting pot that brings together individuals from various tribes, contributing significantly to the nation’s development.

Furthermore, the NRM leader applauded the Kyabazinga (King) for his backing of government initiatives aimed at poverty alleviation.

In response, Dr. Muvawala expressed his appreciation to the NRM for honoring Busoga’s cultural heritage and their substantial contribution towards the upcoming royal wedding. He emphasized the emotional significance attached to culture and conveyed the kingdom’s anticipation that the NRM would harness these sentiments for the advancement of both the party and the nation.

The Busoga royal wedding is slated to unite Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV and Jovia Mutesi in a ceremonial event at Christ’s Cathedral Church in Bugembe on November 18, 2023.
