50 Cent has reaffirmed his eagerness to work with Taraji P. Henson following the actress’s recent revelations about being underpaid in the entertainment industry. In an Instagram post, 50 Cent recalled his successful negotiation with Starz to secure a substantial payday for Mary J. Blige’s role in Power Book II: Ghost as part of his efforts to court Henson for potential collaboration.

This renewed interest comes after Henson publicly disclosed that she had fired her entire team for not capitalizing on the popularity of her Empire character, Loretha “Cookie” Lyon. 50 Cent, expressing his determination to work with Henson, mentioned, “Fvck em @tarajiphenson. I’m ready to work let’s get it! GLG GreenLightGang G-unit Film&Tv.”

Henson had recently shared her frustrations about being consistently underpaid for the level of effort she puts into her work during an emotional interview with Gayle King. She expressed weariness with the pay disparities in Hollywood and contemplated quitting acting due to the mismatch between her hard work and compensation.

In the context of his offer to Henson, 50 Cent highlighted Mary J. Blige’s compensation for her role as Monet Stewart Tejada in Power Book II: Ghost, earning $400,000 per episode according to Variety. The rapper-turned-producer is making efforts to address the issue of unequal pay and extend opportunities to talented actresses like Henson.
