Chief Peter Kemboi of Tinderet constituency in Nandi county has come to the aid of Eliud Kiplimo, a bright student who excelled in the 2023 KCPE with 362 marks. Despite his academic achievement, Kiplimo faced financial constraints preventing him from joining Form One at Meteitei Boys.

Responding to the call, Chief Kemboi rallied the community, creating a WhatsApp group to collect funds for Kiplimo. The community, appreciating Kemboi’s initiative, raised over Ksh56,000, covering school fees, personal items, and shopping for the aspiring student.

The chief’s efforts caught the attention of Eunice Songok from Mombasa, who pledged to fully sponsor Kiplimo’s education. Nandi County education director Harrison Wakaba commended Chief Kemboi’s commitment to supporting needy students, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility in helping underprivileged learners.

Nandi County Commissioner Caroline Nzwili expressed admiration for Chief Kemboi’s actions, foreseeing him as a source of motivation for other local administrators. In light of his consistent efforts, some Nandi residents are urging Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki to recognize and promote Chief Kemboi for his dedicated service in assisting numerous needy students in the region.
