An investigation has been initiated by the police following the suspected murder of Henry Katanga, a prominent businessman and military contractor, whose lifeless body was discovered in his bed with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
Henry Katanga, 61, was renowned in the procurement and supplies sector, notably collaborating with the UPDF and various government agencies. The distressing incident took place at a residence in Mbuya Hill, Nakawa Division.

Bugolobi police officers responded to a distress call reporting a shooting at the location. Upon their arrival, ASP Peter Ogwang and the team found Katanga lying in his master bedroom, immersed in a pool of blood, with a gunshot wound to his head.
An eyewitness, Tricia, the deceased’s daughter, informed authorities that a disagreement had occurred between her father and her mother, Molly Katanga. She recounted hearing a gunshot shortly after the altercation, rushing to the bedroom, and discovering her father with a head wound while her mother appeared unconscious on the floor.

Molly Katanga received immediate medical attention at IHK Hospital, provided by family members prior to the police’s arrival.
The police report confirmed the recovery of a CZ99 COMPACT pistol bearing the serial number UG 16222 00061 at the scene. Several family members present during the incident were apprehended and taken in for questioning.
