Nicki Minaj’s latest studio album, Pink Friday 2, continues to garner commercial success and acclaim. Released last month, the album, featuring collaborations with artists like Drake, J. Cole, Future, Lil Wayne, and Lil Uzi Vert, has quickly become a fan favorite. Notable tracks such as “FTCU,” “Needle,” and “Everybody” have already made waves on the Hot 100, complementing hit singles like “Super Freaky Girl” and “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” propelling the album to accumulate hundreds of millions of streams.
In a remarkable feat, Pink Friday 2 has now broken streaming records by surpassing 1 billion streams at an impressive speed. What makes this accomplishment even more noteworthy is that Nicki Minaj has set the record for the fastest album by a female rapper to reach 1 billion streams in the history of the platform. Additionally, she has become the first female rapper with five different albums, each crossing the 1 billion streams mark.
Recently, Nicki Minaj provided fans with a glimpse into her creative process during an Instagram Live session. She specifically delved into the songwriting process behind one of the album’s major hits, “FTCU.” This is the same track that caught the attention of J. Cole when she played it for him before the album’s release. Notably, Nicki has teased an upcoming remix for “FTCU,” hinting at the participation of a male rapper. Given J. Cole’s prior interest in the song, speculation is rife that he might be the featured artist on the remix. While an official release date for the remix is yet to be shared, fans eagerly anticipate the collaboration.
