The Uganda Netball Team missed out on a Vitality Netball Nations Cup Bronze medal over the weekend after losing to giants New Zealand 62-57.

The narrow five-goal defeat to the World’s number two, the second against the same side within days left Head Coach Fred Mugerwa a contended man.

“The future is bright. All we need is to have them train more as a unit and have more friendly games before we go for another international tournament.”

He added that the United Kingdom trip was a success despite picking fewer wins than planned. Uganda lost to Wales in their 2-1 test series victory.

With the girls facing four teams, three above them and one below in the World Rankings, the three weeks of competitive action was a well-thought-out project.

By press time, the team was aboard back to the Pearl of Africa with their heads up ready for the Netball Super League dates and fixtures announcement.

She Crane’s Results:

Wales 57-45 Uganda
Uganda 64-40 Wales
Uganda 59-48 Wales
England 62-56 Uganda
New Zealand 65-60 Uganda
Australia Diamonds 63-49 Uganda
New Zealand 62-57 Uganda
