50 Cent Applauds 21 Savage, Declares His Latest Song as the “Hardest” Right Now
50 Cent has heaped praise on 21 Savage, hailing his current song as the “hardest” in the game. The acknowledgment comes after 21 Savage credited 50 Cent as a significant influence on his music career during an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.
Expressing admiration for 21 Savage’s latest album, American Dream, 50 Cent took to Instagram on Wednesday (January 31) to commend the Slaughtergang leader. He wrote, “He got the hardest sh!t out right now. Track 5 Sneaky stop playing for [ninja emoji] start booming sh!t.”
In response, 21 Savage expressed gratitude with a saluting face emoji in the comments section, acknowledging the appreciation from the rap veteran.
The mutual respect between the two artists extends beyond this recent exchange. In 2020, 21 Savage sampled 50 Cent’s classic hit “Many Men (Wish Death)” for his joint track with Metro Boomin, which bore the same title. Pop Smoke also sampled the track that year, highlighting the enduring influence of 50 Cent’s music.
Discussing the impact of “Many Men (Wish Death),” 50 Cent acknowledged its continued relevance. In an interview with Spotify, he stated, “Yeah, because the young artists doing it over, they made it that. It’s because they feel the same way. You can’t make a person decide to write a song. Creatively, it’s how I feel right now. The energy, the tones of what’s going on with them match the record.”
However, despite the song’s influence, 50 Cent recently admitted that “Many Men (Wish Death)” was his least favorite track from his iconic debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’. Reflecting on the boom-bap phase of that time, he explained how the song’s slow tempo diverged from the fast-paced beats prevalent in that era.
While 50 Cent shared his perspective on the track, the song’s producer, Six Figga Digga, offered a different view, suggesting that the slower tempo was intentional and served a unique purpose within the album’s overall composition.
