50 Cent Defends Draymond Green Amid NBA “Indefinite Suspension”
Renowned rapper and entertainer 50 Cent has stepped up to defend NBA player Draymond Green following his recent “indefinite suspension” by the league. 50 Cent took to Instagram to express his support for Green, citing him as his favorite basketball player and attributing the incident to the physical nature of the game. While acknowledging the mistake, 50 Cent hinted at issuing an apology on behalf of Green.
Green’s suspension came after he was ejected for delivering a spinning backhand to the Suns’ Jusuf Nurkić, marking his 18th career ejection and tying a single-season high after just 15 games. The NBA’s decision to impose an “indefinite suspension” considers Green’s history of unsportsmanlike acts. The Golden State Warriors, Green’s team, will collaborate with him and his agent, Rich Paul, to devise a rehabilitative program to facilitate his return to the court.
The unusual nature of the “indefinite suspension” means Green cannot play until the NBA deems him eligible, differing from a traditional suspension served over a set number of games. Green will also incur financial penalties, with his salary docked $153,941 per missed game, increasing to $202,922 after his 20th missed game. The Warriors, currently with a 10-13 record, are set to address the suspension during a shootaround before their upcoming game against the Clippers. While Green has apologized for the incident, head coach Steve Kerr criticized his actions and emphasized the team’s need for his presence on the court.
