50 Cent has voiced his frustration with New York City Mayor Eric Adams, suggesting that electing Donald Trump in 2024 might be a viable solution. The rapper shared his discontent on social media, posting a story from the New York Post regarding the city’s $53 million program designed to assist migrant families with short-term hotel stays and food purchases. Managed by Mobility Capital Finance, the program will distribute credit cards to 500 families for use at specific establishments, with the daily amount varying based on family size.

Expressing confusion, 50 Cent wrote, “WTF Mayor Adams call my phone, I don’t understand how this works somebody explain. @arimelber can’t explain this I’m stuck maybe TRUMP is the answer.” The post garnered mixed reactions from fans, with one suggesting that “Trump been the answer” and another questioning why a millionaire would be critical of people receiving modest assistance.

Ari Melber responded to the post, referencing Benny The Butcher: “We did do a lot of calls, so sure swap in the Mayor — it can be his turn! Maybe you’re becoming a single-issue voter – some people are – but I’d say there’s more on the line for 2024 than local immigration subsidies.” He acknowledged the tradeoffs in immigration policy and the ongoing challenge of balancing welcoming individuals with the need for a legal, orderly, and fair system.

A spokesperson for Mayor Adams, Kayla Mamelak, highlighted the benefits of the pilot program, stating, “Not only will this provide families with the ability to purchase fresh food for their culturally relevant diets and the baby supplies of their choosing, but the pilot program is expected to save New York City more than $600,000 per month, or more than $7.2 million annually.”
