Young Thug’s complex RICO case has witnessed another significant development as another defendant opted to take a plea deal, further diminishing the total number of defendants from an initial count of 28 down to 6. Derontae Bebee, also known as “Bee” or “B,” pleaded guilty to multiple charges including conspiracy to violate the state’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), armed robbery, hijacking a motor vehicle, theft of stolen property, violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and involvement in criminal street gang activity.

Bebee was sentenced to a total of 15 years, serving five years behind bars and an additional ten on probation. Among the terms of his plea, he agreed to cease any promotion of YSL in the public eye, which includes refraining from any YSL-related activity on social media. Additionally, he may be required to testify in his co-defendants’ trials if called upon, though prosecutors clarified they would not summon him.

Efforts to reduce the number of defendants and conclude the trial persisted. Despite Young Thug’s legal team advocating for bond due to the rapper’s deteriorating health after spending one and a half years in pretrial detention, no agreement was secured. Consequently, Thug’s representatives have requested an expeditious trial.

Young Thug’s attorney unveiled an impressive list of witnesses last month, notably featuring prominent figures from the music industry such as T.I. (Clifford Harris), Killer Mike (Michael Render), and music executive Lyor Cohen. The comprehensive list spans 45 witnesses, including various experts like investigator Jimmy Martin, sheriff’s deputy Jimmy Kennedy, attorney Jacoby Hudson, and cell phone expert Detective Scott Demeester.

Notably, other former YSL associates, including Gunna, Young Thug’s brother Unfoonk, Slimelife Shawty (Winnie Lee), Lil Duke (Martinez Arnold), YSL co-founder Walter Murphy, and Antonio “Obama” Sumlin, have previously accepted plea deals.

Young Thug faces multiple charges, including conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, participation in criminal street gang activity, as well as numerous drug and weapons offenses.
