The trial of actor Jonathan Majors, facing misdemeanor assault and harassment charges involving his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, has kicked off in New York. The prosecution seeks to include a domestic violence report filed with The Metropolitan Police in London, England, six months prior to Majors’ New York arrest. The judge will decide on the document’s admissibility before the trial proceeds.

A day before the trial commencement, Majors was seen in New York with his current girlfriend, actress Meagan Good. The couple, dating since the summer, enjoyed lunch at Jack’s Wife Freda and strolled through the city, attracting attention amid the legal proceedings. Good has consistently supported Majors during pre-trial events. Simultaneously, multiple women have come forward with similar allegations against Majors, and a Rolling Stone investigation revealed a history of violence and manipulation dating back to his time at Yale.

The repercussions extend beyond the courtroom, affecting Majors’ professional engagements. The release of the upcoming drama “Dreams,” in which Majors stars, scheduled for December 8, has been halted. Disney confirmed that the film currently lacks a release date. The live-action Snow White film, featuring Rachel Zegler, has been postponed from March 2024 to March 2025.

Marvel, which had Majors as a pivotal figure in the next phase of the MCU, is reportedly evaluating responses to the ongoing situation. Executives discussed contingency plans if Majors is found guilty at a September retreat. The uncertainty has cast doubt on Marvel’s future use of Majors in the MCU. Despite his recent appearance in the latest season of Loki, it appears to be the actor’s final MCU appearance for the foreseeable future. One executive commented, “Marvel is truly f-cked with the whole Kang angle. And they haven’t had an opportunity to rewrite until very recently [because of the WGA strike]. But I don’t see a path to how they move forward with him.”
