Police Request More Time for Investigations in the Tragic Death of Businessman Henry Katanga

Law enforcement agencies have requested additional time to thoroughly investigate the tragic death of Henry Katanga, a prominent city businessman who succumbed to a gunshot wound inside his bedroom in Mbuya, Kampala. His wife, Molly Katanga, was also found unconscious at the scene.

The police, without disclosing extensive details regarding the case, have emphasized the need for more time to handle the investigation, discouraging speculation from the public. The murder case is under vide SD ref: 21/02/11/2023 of Bugolobi Police Station.

“We caution the public, particularly bloggers and journalists, against spreading unverified information about the demise of Henry Katanga. The police are actively investigating his death. While a postmortem has been conducted, we await evidence from ballistic and forensic experts,” mentioned police spokesperson Fred Enanga.

He further elaborated, “As of now, we urge the public to exercise patience as we await reports from the experts. Critical evidence needs to be analyzed and reported by these specialists.”

Despite initial reports hinting at domestic violence as a potential cause of death, authorities are yet to determine who discharged the fatal shot from the recovered firearm at the crime scene.

Meanwhile, Molly Katanga, the widow of the deceased, remains under medical care at the International Hospital Kampala, where she was admitted last Thursday.

The late Katanga, aged 61, was the owner of Merge Uganda Limited, a procurement and supplies firm catering to several notable clients, including State House, SFC, Ministry of Defence, Uganda Police, Office of the Prime Minister, Civil Aviation Authority, and other government bodies.
