Renowned rapper 50 Cent has voiced his discontent regarding California’s recent decision to become the first state in the U.S. to provide health insurance to all undocumented immigrants. As of this year, 750,000 adults aged between 26 and 49 are eligible for Medi-Cal benefits in the state, granted they meet the same requirements applicable to citizens, including residency in California and income below a specified threshold.

Reacting to this development in a Wednesday Instagram post, 50 Cent shared his confusion, stating, “I don’t understand this; it’s going to cost 2.6 billion dollars for taxpayers. They don’t even give veterans health insurance. @arimelber call my phone now, help me understand this shit. WTF.”

Comments on his post varied, with one user suggesting, “But if they’re illegal, most of them can’t work unless they have received their asylum seeking credentials. So if they’re going to be here regardless, might as well be healthy. Do understand the rich are rich because of the money spent by the poor, not the rich.”

Another perspective emerged: “So it’s okay for them to clean your homes, hotels, and make your food but not okay for them to be healthy while doing it? Healthcare should be a human right. Period.”

While grappling with this news, 50 Cent faces more pressing legal matters. His recent attempt to have a lawsuit dismissed, accusing him of hiring a hitman to kill former drug lord Corey “Ghost” Holland, was unsuccessful. The lawsuit, filed in 2022 for $1 billion, alleges that 50 Cent stole the idea for his hit series Power and tried to have Holland killed. The plaintiff also claims a personal connection to Power creator Courtney Kemp, asserting that over 200 scenes from the show are based on his life.

Holland accuses 50 Cent of intimidation and stated in the filing, “It’s 50 Cent’s abilities to HIRE a HITMAN, due to a 150 Million Dollar Contract he secured through STARZ/LIONSGATE, that have created the FEAR and constant anxiety.”

Despite 50 Cent’s denial of the lawsuit claims and his lawyer describing it as “an abuse of the judicial system,” the legal battle continues.
