The hip-hop community is eagerly awaiting the next move in the intense feud between Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and J. Cole. The latest shot was fired by Kendrick on “Like That,” featured on Future and Metro Boomin’s new album, WE DON’T TRUST YOU. However, there’s still speculation about the intended target, with most lines seemingly aimed at Drake, leaving J. Cole caught in the crossfire.
Reacting swiftly to the development, DJ Akademiks dissected the situation on his livestream, focusing on the burning question: what happens next? Based on recent footage of Drake engrossed in his phone at a club, Akademiks boldly speculated that Drake is preparing to retaliate against Kendrick. While this deduction may seem presumptuous, Akademiks believes Drake is crafting his response, either by writing bars in his Notes app or consulting with his team.
Akademiks also proposed a theory that Kendrick’s verse on “Like That” is a trap, suggesting Kendrick has more ammunition ready if Drake or J. Cole were to respond. He emphasized Drake’s historical approach to beef, where an initial incident leads to a response and a subsequent clapback.
Furthermore, Akademiks discussed connections between Future’s beef with OVO and Metro Boomin’s issues, citing alleged friction over the 21 Savage collaboration album, Her Loss.
While Akademiks’ analysis is just one perspective among many, it reflects the anticipation shared by fans for the next chapter in this gripping saga.
