In a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Kid Cudi delved into the details of his upcoming album INSANO, shedding light on various aspects of his creative process. During the discussion, Cudi shared a story about his past encounter with Lupe Fiasco, revealing that he once hid from the rapper while working at a Bape store in New York to avoid potential repercussions if he became famous.
Lupe Fiasco swiftly responded on Twitter, reigniting a longstanding feud between the two. Lupe explained the history of their discord, dating back to when he reached out to Cudi as a fan. The tension escalated when Cudi publicly called him out over financial matters, leaving the details unclear.
In response to Lupe’s detailed explanation, Kid Cudi took a seemingly conciliatory approach, extending an olive branch to his fellow rapper. In a tweet, Cudi expressed remorse, saying, “Love u g. Im sorry if i hurt u man. Life is too short. Hope u can find it in ur heart to get past this,” while tagging Lupe Fiasco. In a follow-up tweet, Cudi emphasized his intent to engage in a rational conversation, stating, “Just sent u a dm. Let’s talk.”
Kid Cudi, known for his collaborations with some of the biggest names in rap music, features A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, Pharrell, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, and XXXTENTACION on his new album. The unexpected apology from Kid Cudi to Lupe Fiasco adds an intriguing twist to their nearly decade-long feud. Share your thoughts on this development in the comment section below.
