Lady Luck didn’t hold back her disappointment in the recent feud between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion during a candid interview with AllHipHop, published on Sunday. Expressing her dismay, Luck, who lost her mother last year, found Nicki’s lyrics on the song “Big Foot” distasteful and emotionally jarring.

“As someone who’s a diehard Nicki supporter, you already know that. I went to war for Nicki and all of that. I think that she’s super dope. That mom thing, that sht stabbed me in the chest. And even if she only said it once. Like, ‘Btch, you’re lying on your dead mama.’ That’s a hard-ass line. But to make it like a [repeated phrase],” Luck expressed, reflecting on the impact of the contentious lyrics.

Moving beyond the specific incident, Luck delved into her thoughts on the state of rap battles in contemporary hip-hop. She lamented the shift away from lyrical prowess and creative metaphors towards personal attacks and sensationalism. “What happened to battle rap? I’m not talking about Nicki and Megan right now, but battle rap in general. What happened to y’all being nice? Better metaphors and all of that. It became the tea and who can tell the other one’s personal business more. And that’s not rap to me,” she remarked, highlighting her concerns about the evolving landscape of rap battles.

The feud between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion ignited when the latter called out Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, in her single “Hiss.” Subsequently, Nicki responded with a social media backlash and the release of the diss track “Big Foot.”
