Man Allegedly Killed by Son Over Affair with Mother in Garden

In a distressing incident that unfolded in Aswa East region and Kitgum district, the police have initiated a manhunt for Ochira Siliman, who is accused of brutally murdering Ocakacon Ben, a 54-year-old man and a close friend of his mother, Aloch Filder.

The alleged crime took place on October 31, 2023, at approximately 9 pm, when the suspect reportedly discovered the victim engaging in an affair with his mother in a potato garden near their residence. The situation quickly escalated as Ochira Siliman proceeded to physically assault Ocakacon Ben, delivering blows and repeatedly striking him with a stick. The vicious attack resulted in the immediate death of the victim, and shockingly, the suspect abandoned the lifeless body in the garden.

Following the incident, the body of Ocakacon Ben was transported to Kitgum General Hospital for a thorough post-mortem examination before being handed over to grieving relatives.

Enanga Fred, the Police Spokesperson, expressed strong condemnation for such acts of elderly abuse perpetrated by children. Describing the suspect’s actions as premeditated, Fred highlighted the disturbing fact that the son had been spying on his mother, ultimately launching a violent attack on her lover with a substantial stick. The suspect’s actions were driven by a wave of rage and anger.

Efforts are currently underway to locate and apprehend Ochira Siliman, bringing him to justice for the alleged murder. The police are committed to addressing this reprehensible crime and ensuring that justice is served for the victim and his grieving family.
