The intersection of rap and basketball has long been evident, especially for Quavo, the former Migos rapper known for his active participation in the NBA Celebrity All-Star game. A dedicated fan of the Atlanta Hawks, hailing from his native Atlanta, Quavo has been a familiar face at numerous basketball games across the country. Now, he’s taking his love for the game to the next level by shooting a music video while sitting courtside.
A recent video captured by a fan attending the game showcases Quavo and Rich The Kid seated between two cameras, flaunting their wealth with stacks of cash in true rap video style, all while a Hawks player shoots free throws in the foreground. The juxtaposition of the music video shoot and the live basketball game adds a humorous touch, leaving fans intrigued about the final product.
Quavo and Rich The Kid, who have collaborated on various occasions in the past, seem to be teasing something new, as their last joint release dates back to 2020. The speculation arises that the courtside video shoot is for an upcoming project, possibly a follow-up to Rich The Kid’s 2021 album “Rocket Power.”
Despite the significant anticipation for “Rocket Power,” the album’s commercial success was moderate, trailing behind Offset, another former Migos member, whose album “Set It Off” surpassed expectations just a few months later. As fans eagerly await the release of this unique courtside music video, the intersection of rap and basketball continues to captivate audiences.
