Bow Wow, the renowned rapper and actor, has candidly reflected on his battle with lean addiction, revealing the severe health consequences he endured as a result of his drug habit.

In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, Bow Wow disclosed the extent of his dependency on lean, a concoction containing codeine and promethazine. “I was sipping lean,” he admitted. “I was sipping so much syrup. I said this after Mac Miller died. I spoke on this shit. I was drinking that shit like crazy.”

Recalling the intensity of his addiction, Bow Wow detailed how he consumed lean incessantly, even receiving a “baby bottle” full of the substance from fellow rapper Lil Wayne. The consequences were dire, leading to a harrowing hospitalization during his tour with Chris Brown.

Describing the ordeal, Bow Wow recounted collapsing after a performance in Cincinnati and being rushed to the hospital. “My stomach was so fucked up I ended up going back home to Atlanta after the first show,” he revealed. The withdrawal symptoms were agonizing, leaving him in a state of confusion and distress.

Acknowledging the role of his publicist in managing the situation, Bow Wow admitted to the facade of dehydration being used to conceal the true nature of his condition. “Wasn’t no dehydration; I was fucked up off lean,” he confessed. “That’s just good PR.”

This isn’t the first time Bow Wow has spoken out about his struggles with addiction. Following Mac Miller’s death in 2018, he took to social media to urge young people to avoid drugs. “Stop with these dumb ass drugs,” he implored. “Be a good son or daughter. Be the best you. DRUG-FREE IS THE WAY TO BE!”
