With political temperatures rising ahead of the 2026 presidential elections, National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has unveiled his official campaign poster. The design was released Wednesday via his official social media platforms and marks the formal launch of his election bid.

🎯 Messaging and Visuals

  • Bold slogan: “A New Uganda Now” serves as the centerpiece of the poster, signaling a fresh start and urgency in his campaign narrative.

  • Familiar campaign imagery: Bobi Wine is featured in a crisp blue suit, red tie, and white shirt—a return to the look from his 2021 presidential bid.

  • The poster also incorporates the “People Power, Our Power” slogan alongside a clear “protest vote” message, reinforcing his grassroots appeal and protest-driven campaign strategy.

⚙️ Campaign Launch & Strategy

The unveiling occurred at NUP’s headquarters in Makerere‑Kavule, where the party is also conducting internal vetting of local government aspirants. This serves as both a symbolic and practical start to NUP’s nationwide 2026 campaign mobilization.

Suited to resonate with urban youth and disenchanted voters, the poster represents Bobi Wine’s continued commitment to mobilizing through a message of empowerment and demand for political transformation.

🔄 Context: From 2021 to 2026

  • In the 2021 presidential election, Bobi Wine secured approximately 35% of the vote, according to the Electoral Commission, with President Museveni declared winner at around 58%—a result Kyagulanyi and his party rejected, citing widespread irregularities and intimidation.

  • With 2026 approaching, Museveni seeks his seventh term, while Bobi Wine positions himself as the face of a youth-led opposition, appealing to Uganda’s population with an average age under 30.
