Few losses have resonated in the hip-hop community as profoundly as the passing of DMX in April 2021. Despite the uncertainties surrounding the circumstances of his death, the rap world united to honor the legendary artist. Following his demise, the album he had been actively working on, titled “Exodus,” was completed with contributions from an array of high-profile artists including Jay-Z, Nas, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Swizz Beatz, and Usher.

Swizz Beatz, a significant collaborator on “Exodus,” recently contemplated the possibility of crafting another posthumous DMX project. During an interview with HipHopDX, when questioned about having enough material for another album, he affirmed, “for sure.” However, the decision to create a second posthumous album remains uncertain. Swizz Beatz responded, “Will I make another X album? I don’t know. It has to feel good.” His thoughtful response leaves the door open to the potential for more posthumous releases.

DMX’s legacy and impact were revisited in a recent episode of Ma$e and Cam’Ron’s podcast, It Is What It Is. The hosts stirred controversy by expressing their preference for DMX over Tupac in a best rapper debate, sparking extensive online discussions about DMX’s standing among the greatest rappers of all time.

Earlier this year, a unique connection between DMX and Tupac emerged through an AI-generated song designed to emulate a collaboration between the two icons. Fans praised the song for capturing the essence of both artists’ styles, contributing to the ongoing debate about AI-generated music.

The question now lingers: Should Swizz Beatz proceed with a second posthumous DMX album? Share your thoughts on the possibility and the legacy of DMX in the comments below.
