Seven-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC have confirmed the departure of five of their players, including defender Denis Otim and forward Sheif Batte.
The Red Eagles have made it public knowledge that Otim and Batte, along with Martin Ssenkoto, Johnathan Aguocha and Ashraf Mbazira have left the club.
“The club is grateful for the time they have spent with it and wishes them the best in their future endeavors.”
Otim, who spent the past two and a half seasons, has departed after the end of his contract, with the club deciding against renewal.
Meanwhile, Batte joined at the start of the current season, and leaves after making eight league appearances, where he has scored none.
The striker joined from SC Villa, where he played 21 games, scoring thrice last season.
On the other hand, Aguocha leaves ‘Mukwano Gwabangi’ after just five appearances, having joined at the start of this campaign.
Goalkeeper Ssenkoto only made one league appearance for Express, and has now left in search for more game time.
Express finished the first half of the campaign sixth on the 16-team log with 25 points in 15 matches.
