Ice Cube, known for his complex relationship with politics, has found himself in the midst of discussions about a decades-old conspiracy theory related to rap music. The rapper and actor, who has been both praised and criticized for his political stance, recently addressed an old conspiracy theory that surfaced on Twitter.
In response to a clip shared by conservative pundit Alex Jones, a fan brought up a conspiracy theory suggesting a secret meeting among influential figures in rap music aiming to steer the genre in a violent direction. The fan hinted that Ice Cube might have direct knowledge of this alleged meeting.
“I believe Cube @icecube likely has direct knowledge of ‘the secret meeting’ that Krayzie Bone was referring to,” the fan’s tweet stated, speculating that N.W.A., with Cube’s involvement, played a role in shaping the direction of rap music.
Ice Cube swiftly responded to the tweet, saying, “Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one and they all stink! What evidence do you have to make a statement like that?” The rapper seemed uninterested in entertaining the conspiracy theory.
Despite controversies, Ice Cube’s impact on hip hop remains significant. Last year, he achieved a milestone with his song “It Was A Good Day,” becoming his first track to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.
